UPS Store Owner, Beth Henrichsen, Is Fort Pierre’s Newest Entrepreneur
A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
Beth Henrichsen opened her new store at 502 Island Drive, Fort Pierre, April 16, 2024. She and her husband own the franchise for tThe UPS Store and began planning for it a year ago. They looked for a location and settled on the space, previously occupied by Overhead Door. The location had a lot of parking space and also space for big trucks to turn around.
Henrichsen was prompted to open a UPS Store after hearing conversations around town with people wishing there was a place to drop packages and make Amazon returns. When she and her husband looked into it, she found out UPS Stores did a lot of other things as well. That got her excited about opening a store. She said, “We are here to help with all those returns and more!”
She listed the many things they are capable of doing including: packaging and shipping, drop offs for Amazon, mail boxes, shredding, printing services, and notary and fax services. The UPS Store is able to receive large freight due to large garage doors.
The mail boxes come with a street address. These are for people who may not live here year round or may be full time RVers. The mail boxes can be used for regular mail or packages. She can forward mail if you do not wish to change your address with your post office.
To get ready to operate the store, Henrichsen spent two weeks in Lincoln, NE, at a UPS Store. She also spent a week training at UPS Headquarters in San Diego, CA. They hired contractors who set up UPS stores all over the country to do their renovations.
Henrichsen currently offers about anything you need to supplement your office business needs. She would like to add wide format printing and laminating down the road. A summer ribbon cutting is planned as soon as store signage is completed.
