Sioux Nation 40th Anniversary Celebration/Open House &
Ribbon Cutting for Largest Grain Cleaning Facility In the Nation
In spite of the many activities being held in Fort Pierre Friday, June 20, a large crowd gathered at Sioux Nation’s new grain cleaning facility on Buffalo Road. Governor Larry Rhoden, and Secretary of Agriculture & Natural Resources, Hunter Roberts both encouraged ranchers on what a facility like this means to the economy of Central South Dakota and the entire State.
Former Sioux Nation owners, Reggie Nelson and Stephen Magadanz, were in attendance as well as local officials, to congratulate current owners Chad Stoeser and Cody Hostler on the significant expansion of Sioux Nation and what it means to the local economy. The New Brand Reveal and logo for Drake Seed as promised by Sioux Nation was on display. In fact, the facility will be called the “Drake Grain Cleaning Facility.” Long term plans are to move everything to one location but Cody says, “We will always be Sioux Nation.”
Mayor Gloria Hanson, Dave Bonde, Economic Development Director and Chamber CEOr Shane Kramme, applauded Sioux Nation for their committment to Fort Pierre and their willingness to make such a huge investment in their home turf.
FPDC Board Members, Chamber Board Members, and City Council Members all joined in celebrating Sioux Nation’s success and look forward to another 40 years of continued growth and success.
