Many Hands Make Quick Work – FPDC Housing Committee and Board Members Show Up To Clean Up
Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in spite of the threat of rain, eleven members of the FPDC Housing Committee, Board Members and family members showed up at FPDC’s 6th Avenue Housing Project to clean up trash and debris in preparation for the first houses to be placed within the next 18 months or sooner.
Showing up to help with the cleanup were, Mike Weisgram, Jed Bauman and family (Jed brought a dump trailer), Lyle Magorien, Eric Drageset, Michel Williams, Dave and Linda Bonde, Steve Brown and Heath Schnee. Brown and Magorien brought skid loaders. Another volunteer, Board President Kale Urban will till the property as soon as the City can bundle exposed cables and haul away the bagged trash. Bauman hauled a large load of limbs and shrubbery to the Pierre location for disposal.
FPDC purchased the lots December 31, 2025, and received a Housing Opportunity Fund (HOF) grant to develop two of the lots for placement of two, three-bedroom Governor’s Houses some time in the next 18 months or sooner. The lots can also be purchased by a private developer. Contact Dave Bonde at 605-773-7603 or 605-280-9680 if interested.
